Ben Ari attacks the closure of the Temple Mount

Two hundred Jews gathered on Tisha B'Av morning to go up to the Temple Mount. After being promised entry some 20 minutes later it was denied. A policeman came out and said 'Sorry, we've decided that it's closed today,' with no explanation." Phone calls to police contacts confirmed the commander of the Jerusalem District Police had decided keep the site closed.

MK Michael Ben Ari was among those who attacked the closure of the Temple Mount to Jews on Sunday, saying, “The time has come for the racist policy of the police to stop."

"The Temple Mount practices a policy of apartheid against Jews under the Public Security Minister [Yitzchak] Aharonovitch,” he said.
